Child and Adolescent Program (Lake View)

WHOM WE SERVE:

Ages:                           Children ages 3-17 and their families.

 

Communities:             City-wide

 

Language capacity:   We are able to provide services in both English and Spanish.

                                     Interpreters are used with individuals requiring services in
                                     another language.

 

SERVICES WE PROVIDE:

  • Individual, family and group therapy
  • Psychiatric evaluation and medication monitoring for individuals who are also involved in therapy services
  • Psychological testing for individuals involved in therapy services
  • Advocacy, support, service planning and linkage to additional services
  • Consultation and collaboration with schools, day care centers, police, juvenile court, hospitals, shelters and other community agencies
  • Information and referral

TYPICAL PROBLEMS THAT WE ADDRESS:

We support children and adolescents with emotional and/or behavioral challenges at home, school or in the community, and their families.  Services may address relationship difficulties; difficulties experienced by parents in communicating with their children or in setting limits.  Children and adolescents who have had psychiatric hospitalizations are given priority.

 

OUR APPROACH / PHILOSOPHY:

We work with clients to enhance their already existing strengths. Our goals are to  assist clients to resolve conflicts that interfere with growth, development and individual/family functioning; to work with individuals/families, schools, other agencies and communities to create a healthy environment for promoting positive development; and to help clients increase their capacities by improving their social and relationship skills.

                                       Red, Brown and Purple lines.

 

PAYMENT:

We accept Medicaid (Kidcare).  For those without Medicaid, services are generally subsidized by the Illinois Department of Human Services / Office of Mental Health; a modest co-pay is established based upon household income and size.  Under certain circumstances, we are able to accept private insurance.

 

TIPS FOR CLIENTS:   

If  you plan to drive to your appointments, please allow enough time for parking. There are limited meter spaces in front of our building. If you do not live in the immediate area, please plan to arrive early for your first appointment so that we may provide you with a visitor's parking pass.

 

OTHER FACTS YOU SHOULD KNOW:

Accessibility of facility:  Our facility is ground level, located in the 3223 Sheffield
                                         building. For added convenience,
services may be provided
                                         in the 3225 Sheffield building.
